The mic icon is tilting or not responding

This happens in older versions of the app. Make sure you have the latest version by clearing your browser cache:
Chrome/Edge: Press Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows)
Safari: Hold Shift and click Reload

Microphone access denied

Chrome/Edge (desktop): Click the padlock 🔒 in the address bar → Site settings → set Microphone to Allow → reload the page

Safari (iPhone/iPad): Go to Settings → Safari → Microphone → Allow

Chrome (Android): Tap the padlock in the address bar → Permissions → Microphone → Allow

Transcription stops after a few sentences

This is normal browser behaviour — Chrome's speech recognition pauses after ~7 seconds of silence. The app restarts automatically. Keep speaking continuously for best results. For booth work, this matches natural speech patterns.

No text appearing at all

1. Use Chrome or Safari — Firefox and Internet Explorer do not support speech recognition
2. Make sure you have a working microphone connected
3. Check your internet connection — speech recognition requires a connection to work
4. Try the Google speech demo to confirm your mic works: google.com/intl/en/chrome/demos/speech.html

Terms not being detected

Speak clearly at a normal pace. The app matches single words and short phrases — say "asset", "EBITDA", "dividend" clearly. Background noise reduces accuracy. For best results use a headset or speak close to the microphone.

Best browsers for Live tab

Error: "Could not load entries" or HTTP 401

This is a connection error. Check your internet connection and reload the page. If the problem persists, try clearing your browser cache (Cmd+Shift+R or Ctrl+Shift+R).

App loads slowly on first visit

The first load fetches all 334 entries from the database. Subsequent visits are instant because entries are cached. For offline use, install the app (see below).

Where do I find my unlock code?

Your unlock code is printed on the last page of your copy of The Finance Interpreter's Lexicon (EPUB or PDF). The code format is FINANCE-2026.

Code says "invalid"

Make sure you type the code exactly as printed — all caps, with the hyphen. Try copy-pasting it directly from your ebook. If the problem persists, contact graceesltutor@gmail.com.

I unlocked on one device — does it work on others?

Yes — enter the same code on each device. The code can be used on your computer, tablet and phone. The unlock is stored locally on each device.

iPhone / iPad

Open finance.interplexicon.com in Safari → tap the Share button (□↑) → tap "Add to Home Screen" → tap Add. The app icon will appear on your home screen and works offline.

Android

Open in Chrome → tap the 3-dot menu → tap "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app". Works offline once installed.

Desktop (Mac / Windows)

Open in Chrome or Edge → look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar → click it → click Install. The app opens as a standalone window and works offline.

Hours are stored locally on your device. If you clear your browser data or use a different browser, you'll need to re-enter your hours code. Keep your code safe — it's in your purchase confirmation email.
